If you come to Mézin, you'll hear the crack of iron balls coming from behind the church every afternoon. The daily game of petanque is on.
On Friday nights in the summer, visitors are welcome to try their hands at tossing the iron balls about in the Place du Club. After watching a few games, you'll get the basics - however, be warned - it can be a much more complicated game than it seems at first glance.
During my ten years in Mézin I've painted many pictures of petanqueurs.
